I was recently listening to Winds of Change (and remembering the awesome New Yorker podcast about it!). It was released by the Scorpions in the late 80s, and somehow it made me think about the changes that are coming to our industry, and the world.
I was living in Europe then. I won't quote the whole song, but if you know it, you know: it's about a world that was shifting under our feet very fast, walls were coming down, borders were being redrawn, and we didn't really know what would come next. “Winds of change are blowing by…”
And here we are, in a world that is changing by the minute, talking about AI in real estate the way people talked about the internet in 1996 — as a feature, something you'd just “add on” to the existing way of doing business. But I think that framing is wrong.
I have an unusual vantage point on this, because I live in the Bay Area and at the center of it all, and because my husband runs an AI startup and our dinner conversations have a habit of circling back to agents — the silicon kind he's building with, and the carbon kind I work with.

So what does the arrival of the AI revolution mean for us and our industry? It means large, fast, dare I say exponential change is coming, and I'm not sure of all the implications yet. I don't think anyone is.
What I do know: the response isn't a single move or a "thing" you check off. It's a thoughtful and comprehensive strategy to embrace change.
And that's my mindset — waking up every morning thinking about how to make sure my agents are better supported, competitive in a fast-paced market, and most of all, happy. Waking up with ideas for how to double down on the things we know will keep us from becoming obsolete to AI.
As a buyer, seller, colleague or agent, you want a team that's genuinely embracing the Winds of Change.
And change is coming to District Homes.
