Last weekend, we sponsored and participated in the Gilman District Street Fair. This is our third year being there, since the event was founded.
We got to be surrounded by our community—in person, with real conversations. Not just emails and text threads. I talk about this a lot, but it really does matter to feel like you belong to the town you live in. Not just live there… be part of it. Supporting small businesses, showing up for schools and nonprofits, donating where we can—it’s what makes this whole thing meaningful. And honestly, it’s just way more fun being around friends and neighbors.
Also, look at the photos Miles Cull took—how beautifully he captured the scenes and the people!
On a different note, I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of AI in our society as of late. I’ll be writing more about it soon (it’s already up on my LinkedIn), but for today I’ll just say this—yes, AI will definitely make us more efficient at our job. Our spreadsheets will look cleaner, our listing descriptions might suddenly sound like we swallowed a thesaurus (and yes, this word did come from my chat attempt to clean up my writing, which is still mine), and everything may feel a bit more polished.
But the important stuff? Still very human. Things like intuition, trust, empathy, care, relationships, just to name a few of those things that cannot be replaced.
If anything, it just makes us want to lean even harder into what District Homes has always been about—people first, houses second.
We’ve also got some fun stuff coming up (including a new office,) but more on that soon.
For now, just know—we’re here, we like people, and we’re all in on this community.

You’ve got questions and I can’t wait to answer them.
