Today, more than ever, I am filled with inspiration and pride as I reflect on the 14th Annual Berkeley MLK Breakfast Celebration that took place this morning, and honored to have once again supported this incredible event that brings our community together.
This year's theme, "Beyond the Dream-Forward Together," resonated deeply with all of us in attendance. It offered a powerful reminder of the path we must continue to forge as a community - one built on resilience, love, and persistence.
As I listened to the words of so many inspiring community members, I was reminded of the incredible diversity and inclusivity that makes Berkeley such a special place. Young men and women, seasoned activists, and local organizations were recognized for their tireless efforts in moving our city forward together.
On a day like today, while a very different kind of event is taking place in Washington, D.C, I feel immensely proud to be surrounded by these inspired individuals who embody the spirit of Dr. King's dream. Their dedication to creating a more just and equitable world.
This celebration served as a powerful reminder of the work that still lies ahead. It reinforced our commitment to continue building bridges, fostering understanding, and working collectively towards a brighter future for all.
Let us carry the energy and motivation with us. Let's continue to support one another, celebrate our differences, and work tirelessly to make our communities an even more inclusive and vibrant community.
At District Homes, we remain committed to being an active part of this journey.
Today, and every day, I am proud to call Berkeley home.
In the words of Dr King:
If you can't fly, then run
If you can't run, then walk
If you can't walk, then crawl
but whatever you do,
you have to keep moving forward
